Incompetence and rudeness on display at Kennesaw State University

Yesterday at Kennesaw State University, a black student by the name of Kevin Bruce (@IAmKB_ on Twitter) was falsely accused of "harassment" by a white faculty member named Abby Dawson for merely waiting in the waiting room.

A video showing a university employee telling a black student he was harassing staff by sitting in a waiting room went viral after he posted it to Twitter on Wednesday.

Kevin Bruce, a student at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, said he went to his academic advisor's office after repeated attempts to set up an appointment. According to Bruce, he told an assistant that he would wait to talk to his advisor. A staff member later told Bruce he was harassing his advisor.

A black student at Kennesaw State University is drawing national attention after he says he was treated unfairly by staff at the Georgia college.

Kevin Bruce drew attention to the issue Wednesday when he posted the below video to his @IamKB_ Twitter account.

In it, we see a woman tell Kevin “you’re not going to harass Mrs. Tilly like that,” and he responds, “I’m just waiting to talk to someone, I’m not harassing no one though.”

The woman then says, “Sitting here until somebody is available is harassment” and threatens to call campus security.

Video footage has emerged of a Kennesaw State University student being told that the police are being called as a result of him waiting to meet with his advisor.

In the 30-second video, a woman can be seen telling student Kevin Bruce that he's committing an act of harassment. When Bruce contends that he isn't harassing anyone, she responds with, "Sitting here until someone is available is harassing them" before retreating to contact campus security.

University Herald:

Kennesaw State University (KSU) in Georgia acknowledged it received and is looking into a complaint from a student who was accused of harassment for waiting on an academic advisor to meet with him.

A student named Kevin Bruce posted a video to Twitter Wednesday night with the message: "Rude advisors at Kennesaw. [Shaking my head]." In the video, an advisor Bruce identified as Abby Dawson approaches him and tells him he is harassing her and her assistant and leaves to call campus security.

This is a disgusting display of white privilege and racism incompetence and rudeness, and hopefully Ms. Dawson is fired.
