Rabid Islamophobe Jan Markell fearmongers about a possible Westgate Centre-style attack in the USA

Rabid far-rightIslamophobicbigotJan Markell, the head of Maple Grove-based Olive Tree Ministries and host of OTM's Understanding The Times, demonizes Minnesota's Somali Americanimmigrant community (most of whom are Muslim) by falsely accusing them of having the "potential to carry out a Westgate Centre-style attack on the Mall of America."

"A significant percentage [of them] maintain their clan ties to the terrorists in Somalia; they maintain their animosity,” she shares with OneNewsNow. “They make no attempt at integrating themselves into the general population. They are prone to violence. And the gangs of area Somalis are mugging area people on bicycles and other venues."

"The liberal, twisted mind here in Minnesota cannot possibly conceive of some of these people as being evil,” she laments. “But I and many other conservatives here in Minnesota are very concerned that this Mall of America is going to be targeted eventually – and the casualties could be astronomical."

The Somali American community has rightfully condemned the attack on Westgate Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, which further undercuts Markell's idiocy.

Now, the Twin Cities Somali community is wondering whether two of its own are actually involved in the Kenyan mall attack that killed 62 people.

The horrifying attack in Kenya was strongly condemned by Muslim leaders at a Minneapolis mosque this afternoon.

“This outrageous act of violence has no place in Islam. The perpetrators of this barbaric act do not share our Islamic values,” Imam Abdisalam Adam said.

Several leaders said the names of two the Twin Cities men reported on Twitter do not match the names of any members of the Twin Cities Somali community they know of.
Minnesota has the largest Somali population in the country, making it a recruitment target for terrorist organizations in Somalia. While the majority will not be lured away, there is a small number that have left Minnesota to join that terrorist organization.
